Do you know what they say the three most important things in wedding planning are? "Location, location, location." No one understands that more than my bride-to-be. Initially I was thinking we would wed surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Vanderbilt cottage in New Port, but she didn't think that place was good enough for our wedding. She's being a little on the picky side; but that's just because she wants everything to be perfect for the big day. |
I decided to up the ante and show her that I'm serious about this wedding by putting down nonrefundable deposits on four very different yet romantic locations. First, I thought we could get closer to heaven so I booked a hot air balloon in Napa. I thought I'd counter the sky with a location 'Under de Sea' by reserving a scuba wedding in the Bahamas. If that wasn't enough variety for her, I booked us a wedding around the world at Walt Disney's Epcot Center (where else can you get a churro in Paris and eat that churro in Japan?!). My safety location was the ballroom at the lovely Wilkes Barre Marriott, but apparently it wasn't safe enough because she didn't like it...In fact she hated all these ideas.
But it's okay; the communication waves are now open. I think I have a clearer idea of what she wants, or at least what she hates. She's given me a list of required amenities - if anyone knows of a place that's below sea level in the continental United States with a 1,000 year-old church, 24hour veterinarian on call, and adequate bathrooms please let me know.
