The Cake
Angela seemed really into cake planning at first. I told her they have cake makers who can do cakes in any shape or size. She was kind of tickled by the idea, but a little skeptical so I made her watch Ace of Cakes. It's this awesome show where they make crazy cakes that look like things. My buddy Chip had one at his 35th birthday party that looked exactly like a giant thousand dollar bill. Then he poured gasoline all over it and set it on fire. Total power move! Everyone was really impressed. Anyway, Angela and I were watching this one episode where they made a cake that looked just like an Egyptian cat sculpture. I've never seen Angela's face light up quite as much as it did when she was watching the assembly of that cake. But when they started slicing it into pieces she got a wee bit upset and when they put the leftovers of the cat in the freezer, she was virtually inconsolable. I've never seen someone so concerned about the dangers of freezer burn. Anywho, it worked out well in the end. Angela decided that we don't want a cake in the shape of animal and that I should continue to look for something simple and more suitable on my own. She needs lots of alone time, which has given me the opportunity to go cake tasting, a lot. Pretty sweet job if you ask me.
